drop it

Dog opens mouth and drops or releases what’s in there.

Hand signal is opening fist to flat hand (for pick up item is flat hand then made into fist). Verbal command ‘drop it’

Leo will do this with toys for the reward of playing again. Not so good when holding something he perceives as high value (mainly something he’s stolen and run off with), practice getting him to release important things like socks and plastic bottles for v.HVT and then get them back again. He is also bad at dropping tennis balls unless you have another one in your hand, practise just getting him to pick up and drop a tennis ball repeatedly for HVTs.
